Davy Sims shows
Davy Sims has travelled extensively often finding music along the way. His interest in music ranges from local Belfast bands to world music.
In his weekly show Around The World, Davy plays music of all types from Bosnian Sevdah and Portuguese Fado, Desert Blues from north Africa, Australian first nation music, European electronic and folk and Americana. He finds obscurities in South America, rare South African Jazz, and brass band from China and the Balkans.
The show is broadcast every Friday evening at 8:00 pm for two hours and repeated at 3:00 am on Saturday morning.

Davy Sims began broadcasting in 1979 on Downtown Radio and has worked in BBC Radios 1 and 4 with most of his career in Radio Ulster. He left BBC Northern Ireland in 2008 where he led the New Media team. He now trains businesses and community organisations to understand and use podcasting. He likes to find interesting and unusual music in unpredictable places.
